Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda is a God-realised Master whose mission is to open people’s hearts to know who they truly are and to know their eternal relationship with God. His mission is based in Germany and he has a large following in Europe, with devotees also found throughout the world, including Kenya.
The starting point on Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda’s, fondly known as Guruji path is his simple, elegant commentary on the Bhagavad Gita, in which Krishna describes our soul and the Supreme soul, and how we can reconnect to both through devotion.
“You are not what you think you are”- declared Shyam in his talk based on Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s “Bhagavad Gita Essentials” book on Saturday 6th February at Karura Forest. As long as we limit ourselves to being just a body, we can’t find permanent satisfaction because the body and its pleasures are temporary. True bliss is found by connecting with the eternal part of ourselves, our soul.
Shyam shared his personal story of how this became easier since he met Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda here in Nairobi and over a yagna, there was a divine connection that was established. Since, then, Shyam has practiced Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s unique Atma Kriya Yoga technique and accessed a deeper love in his life.
There was a beautiful turn out of Bhakti Marga Kenya members and new family and friends on that Saturday afternoon. During the talk everyone took part in an Om Chanting, the group practice within the powerful Atma Kriya Yoga technique.
OM Chanting coordinator, Shubhra Sen explained the importance of OM Chanting and the healing it provides to mind, body and soul.
“The intention of OM Chanting is to connect with the deeper part of yourself”. The vibration of the OM Chanting circle was phenomenal and new participants were surprised by the feeling of well-being they felt afterwards.
Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s path is not just about connecting to divinity inside but also outside though devotional practices such as rituals and singing divine names. Everyone felt that divinity in the form of God and Guru responding to them when the heavens opened right at the end of the programme and poured blessings upon everyone!
